Implementation of the "Curriculum of Love" in *Aqidah Akhlak* Instruction: A Study of Efforts to Shape Student Character at MTs Muhammadiyah Way Jepara

Abstract

The formation of student character is one of the main focuses in the implementation of education, especially through the learning of Aqidah Akhlak. However, various character problems are still encountered, such as low honesty, discipline, and responsibility of students in learning activities. To address these problems, an approach is needed that can insert character values ​​directly into the learning process, and one way is by implementing the Love Curriculum. This study itself aims to see how the Love Curriculum is implemented in Aqidah Akhlak learning, as well as to examine the extent of its role in shaping student character at MTs Muhammadiyah Way Jepara. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The parties involved as data sources include the principal, curriculum coordinator, Aqidah Akhlak teachers, and students. To obtain the required data, the researcher went directly to the research location to collect data through observation, interviews, and documentation. Furthermore, the data was analyzed descriptively so that a complete picture of the problems that are the focus of the study can be obtained. From the results of the study, it is known that the Love Curriculum has been implemented well in the school. Its implementation is carried out through habituation, role modeling, and the instillation of various values ​​such as compassion, empathy, caring, honesty, discipline, and responsibility, embedded in every stage of Aqidah Akhlak learning. This implementation has a positive impact on student character development, demonstrated by increased discipline, honesty, responsibility, social awareness, cooperation, and mutual respect. Therefore, the Love Curriculum is considered an effective approach in fostering character development in students through Aqidah Akhlak learning.
